Description
I now knew how oil paint looked and behaved on impact. But the slow drying nature of oil meant the image would still evolve as it dried. I wanted to try a different medium to see the results. Acrylic dries quickly, which would give me more flexibility, but it can, at times, look like plastic with a dull texture. I didn’t know how it would stand up against the complexity of oil paint. I went back to black on a white canvas and began the series of strikes. This time with each imprint I would respond by striking the planes of previous marks or searching for new space while trying to find the composition’s natural rhythm. After 6 hits the composition had my head racing with possible meanings. I knew to put it aside. To me, the canvas was full and I didn’t see one hockey player. I thought that was special. I was at the framing store with this canvas and another customer told me he saw a musician playing a horn on the right side. That made me smile.

All Prints are made using Hahnemuhle William Turner textured paper; 310gsm, 100pct cotton, and mould-made white.
*Please Note– If Compositions 3 and 4 are being purchased together to display as a diptych, as they are displayed in my home, understand that the widths vary slightly but should be near identical in height. When being framed please be sure to tell the framer to line up the images by image height in case one needs a slight margin adjustment to match.
