Description
In this painting, I took a similar approach to composition #5 by continuously making tight marks with acrylic and responding. I began with an ochre wash background, the idea was to create a cave-like feeling. In the final passes I wanted a powerful symbolic color in oil to drip over the entire image. I chose crimson. People may always associate red drips with blood. In that sense, the red figures may reflect some pain. Maybe the wear and tear of a hockey season on the body. But red has countless connotations. I hope the observer will be able to see and feel a wide variety of emotions from this choice.
